We don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach, and tailor make a treatment program for each individual who walks through our doors. We recognise that each person experiences detox and rehab differently in Adelaide and have a range of treatment options available to reflect this.
SDR takes on a maximum of four clients at one time to ensure you have plenty of access to our highly experienced team of drug and alcohol workers, counsellors, nurses, therapists and medical staff.

Help when you need it
SDR offers clients priority admission. Many public addiction programs have waiting lists of up to 6 months; whilst private hospitals can have wait times of up to several weeks.
Most of our clients are admitted within 1 week of their first contact with our service.
If you decide that one of our programs could be right for you, we will organise an assessment with one of our friendly staff to get a clearer picture of where you’re at, what you need and whether we’re the best service for you. From there, we will arrange an admission time that is convenient to you.
A special location
SDR is located on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, known for its crystal clear water and beautiful soft sand. We chose this location for the calmness, tranquility and health benefits that the ocean offers. Clients can go for daily beach walks and ocean swims if they choose to. We provide individuals with a comfortable and relaxed retreat-like environment close to the ocean, with panoramic views throughout our facility.
Travelling for detox and rehab
Being in a new environment can support individuals in recovery with a fresh perspective, away from the triggers, places and people you associated with your drug and alcohol use. Distance between yourself and the triggers you associate with alcohol and drug use can be supportive during the early stages of the recovery process.
We will take care of airport pick ups and drop offs for your ease and comfort.

Isolation can also be a trigger for drug and alcohol users, as addiction is often shrouded in secrecy and shame around use. Many individuals recovering from addiction find that they have to find and develop new social circles and new ways of socialising that don’t involve drugs and alcohol.
During your stay at SDR we will help you with finding activities and ways of relating to others that are enjoyable sober. You will always have someone to chat to in addition to more structured counselling sessions.

SDR offers medically supervised drug and alcohol detoxification and rehabilitation programs for individuals struggling with addiction.
Our experienced medical doctor and team create a bespoke treatment plan that will best benefit you during your stay with us. Our specially trained staff ensure the privacy and comfort of your detox and rehab stay. Our nurses are onsite 24/7 during the withdrawal phase of your time with us to ensure your safety and health.
SDR offers a holistic approach to addiction recovery, offering a range of integrative therapies in addition to medical interventions. We take a maximum of 4 clients at one time to ensure privacy and highly individualised care.
Your recovery journey begins with detoxification, and to ease this process we offer medical support and physical therapies such as massage, acupuncture and personal training. Our in-house chef takes care of your nutritional needs, helping you reclaim the satisfaction of taking care of yourself again.
We support clients to rediscover themselves and the world beyond addiction. We want clients to connect with the joy of living and reconnect to their reason for living.
In addition to daily counselling, psycho-educational sessions and executive coaching, we offer enjoyable activities such as kayaking, African drumming sessions, equine assisted learning, golf and sound meditation. Let us help you create a life worth living.
Detox & Rehab Aftercare
Recovery is an ongoing process that benefits from ongoing support. One month of outpatient aftercare is included in all of our packages to help you ease back into life post detox and rehab. Aftercare is available regardless of where you live- meetings with our counsellors will be conducted online via a video conferencing program such as Zoom. For those interested in long-term support, our team will link you up with the most appropriate professionals and services in your local area.
What about privacy?
SDR ensures a high level of confidentiality and privacy for our clients.
Your records will be anonymous – they will not be listed with Medicare or eHealth portals, nor will they be shared with private health or Income Protection insurers. We are a strictly paper-only service- your medical records are not recorded in any database. You can choose to use an alias when you stay with us. We are also happy to take cash payments or bank cheques so that there is no banking record.
